I have been working as a Counsellor with children, adults and parents since 2002, both in private practice, and as a School Counsellor in five schools.
I have a background in education spanning thirty years, which I feel has given me good experience and empathy in relating to children and young people in particular, but also an understanding the difficulties of children, families and adults in general.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP (Accred)) and on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (UKRCP)
As I work in schools, I have regular DBS checks.
My initial training was a Higher National Diploma in Integrative Counselling, at Bromley College of Higher Education from 2004-2007. The course was accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. (B.A.C.P.)
I became an Accredited Member of the BACP in 2009 (MBACP Accred)
I have completed longer courses in
Bachelor of Humanities (B.Hum Hons)
Postgraduate Certificate of Education (P.G.C.E.)
I regularly attend supervision, continuing professional development, and have written several articles for parenting magazines and professional journals, such as “Children and Young people” published by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
